A Chrysler something, California 2009. Took me around California, into Yosemite and up to Portland. Like nearly all the cars I’ve had in the US, it had a 2.4 litre four and a four speed automatic box, a combination that would be odd indeed back home (in fact unavailable). Its unusual feature was satellite radio, a thing I had never heard of before, so you could drive for days and get the same station throughout rather than find a new Radio XYKC or Radio ABCD every twenty miles pumping out a new variation of the same drivel.
What it didn’t have was proper rear indicators, because American.

Is that what it is? We used to have a Chrysler (previously Hillman and later Talbot) Avenger years ago. They were crap.

These cars were crap, too.

Nice to see they kept up the tradition (although I thought it was fine, in an absolutely forgettable way).

So, I suspect the drivetrain you recall getting so many of was due to renting from bargain basement places that bought Chrysler products. PT Cruisers and Dodge Calibers had the same.

Yeah, that’s exactly it.....they’re OK A-B transport, but absolutely nothing special...
Friend of mine had one. He never had any issues with it, it’s just that it felt cheap and had no memorable features whatsoever.

SatRadio is excellent except for when they play the same 12 songs for 12 freaking hours.
